Truman Maynard Introduced the Natchitoches Rotary Club to the Sons of the American Revolution
Truman Maynard introduced the Natchitoches Rotary Club to the Sons of the American Revolution, a non-profit organization of the male descendents of the war for independence, which seeks to expand the meaning of patriotism, respect for national symbols, perpetuate the ideal of independence, and promote our history, education and value of American citizenship. He went on to connect his family history to the recent best seller George Washington’s Secret Six which is an incredible story of six spies who helped win the American Revolution. His presentation explained the critical role that the Secret Six played in the victory at Trenton which enabled Gen. Washington to successfully continue his campaign for independence. He also, cited the new TV series Turn for a historic perspective on the period.
